2. Go to the Holi Festival

A favorite of BYU students, the Holi Festival (AKA festival of color) is held at the end of every March at the Spanish Fork Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple. Many of my friends had gone the year before I got here, and after seeing their pictures I knew I had to do it.

I'd been warned, but I was absolutely unprepared for the mayhem of colors. As soon as you enter people start to throw colors at you as a way of introduction or flirting.

In front of the temple is where the big throw happens, on the hour, every hour for the duration of the festival. It's mosh-pit style, yes- people have been hurt, no- you cannot breathe. But it is AWESOME. The big throw right at noon was when I started to look like Elphaba (but is that really a problem?).

This has become one of Utah's most popular festivals, and people come from all of the surrounding states each year. Ironically it is one of, if not the largest Holi Festivals in the United States.

Snow covered mountains make the best back drop in any picture.

Possibly my favorite part of the whole show.

Until next year, Holi Fest!
