11. See Monument Valley

11. See Monument Valley

Made famous by legends like John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and Forrest Gump, Monument Valley is an enigmatic place most people can recognize. Located in the Navajo nation between Utah and Arizona, Monument Valley is about as out-of-the-way as you can go to sight-see. We made the day-trip down from Moab, with a beautiful drive and stops at the incredible Goosenecks State Park, and the Needles District of Canyonlands. The diversity of landscapes in this part of the country is incredible.

This little oasis in the dessert, Comb Ridge Bistro, is located in Bluff, on the way to the Monuments. If you are ever there, make a stop at this place. It has to be the best food within 200 miles.

"diversity of the landscapes." You're looking at two adult llamas on the left, and 11 baby llamas on the right, all on top of each other.

Newspaper Rock in Canyonlands. The coolest petroglyphs I have ever seen.
